Art Nouveau14k Black Onyx Ring
This antique beauty is one of the loveliest rings I've ever seen! It was acquired from a Florida estate for resale. The original owner took such good care and keep it in a lockbox for years until her death. Her family is now looking to find a few good homes for some of her jewelry items. Three black onyx 5mm cabochon cut stones line up perfectly to the center with two beautiful curves seeming to hold them in place. The stones are in perfect condition with NO chips, cracks or breaks. The metal work is smooth and without any cracks, breaks or dents. The ring band has a nice amount of gold, with a double support row. The inside of the band is stamped with both the American 14k gold mark and the European 585 gold mark. This is original and means that this particular ring was created overseas for the American market. Gold by law needed to have these gold markings as of 1906. Comfortable to wear all day and the perfect accessory for any outfit!

Onyx is a type of chalcedony, which is a type of silica mineral. The lattice of chalcedony contains fine veins of quartz and moganite. The word ‘onyx’ is derived from the Greek word for ‘claw’ or ‘nail’. The word refers to the flesh-toned variety of onyx, which may resemble a chipped off claw or nail if you find it lying around on the ground. Onyx is a balancing, grounding stone, particularly black onyx. It is thought to help stimulate the root chakra. Your root chakra is your grounding energy center. Other colors of onyx stimulate different chakras in your body, and are associated with different meanings as a result. Onyx helps to reduce the intensity of emotions, whether negative or positive, and balances conflicting energies and drives. It is associated with good fortune and judgment, and also with fidelity.
Marcasite got its name from the Arabic word for Pyrite and has gold like sparkles across. Its beads seem to be little somber, but its healing properties, call attention to themselves. The Chinese, Greeks and Mayans used marcasite for thousands of years due to it's calming effect. Marcasite attracts wealth and inspire creativity. It frees the wearing individual from the feelings of hopelessness, over-sensitiveness and help to re-calibrate, re-assess, re-design, release, and reincarnation. Being gentle with the wearer's body, it holds on the wearer grounded as well as balanced.
