Black Jade & Sterling Bangle
This vintage bangle has traveled well. It was originally crafted in Japan, flew to the United States, then to Germany and back to the US. It was purchased by a Army Air Corp pilot, before the U.S. Air Force was created, from a family he befriended after the war. It was purchased as a gift for his sister who lived in California with her husband who was enlisted in the Army. She loved the bangle so much and kept it with her throughout her life. She traveled to Germany with her husband and lived there for 3 years before returning to the states. She did not have any children of her own, but enjoyed her nieces and nephews very much. Her family is now looking for good homes for a few of her beautiful jewelry items. The bangle is constructed of black jade with sterling endcaps with gold brush detailing. The gold that enhanced the flower etching is almost gone; however, the inside of the locking clasp has original gold brush visible. Black jade is in good condition with NO breaks, cracks or chips. You can see some natural discoloration and some light rubbing to the jade from wear. The original safety chain is attached and the closure clasp is in perfect working order. The most wonderful part of this bangle is the craftsmanship and metal work. The press down lock is flush with the rest of the bangle, something you find in fine made jewelry. Easy to open and close with NO play when closed. NO dents or cracks to silver caps or missing links from safety chain. A beautiful gift waiting for that special lady.
