Hawaiian Sailing Ship Scrimshaw Pendant

This vintage hand carved and etched Hawaiian Scrimshaw is in perfect condition and waiting for you.  Scrimshaw is a native American art form that dates back over 200 years to the Yankee sailors of New England.  Intricate detailing of a storybook sailing ship to the face with a high polished natural back setting.  Picked up in the 1980's by a lovely married couple of archaeologist while on vacation.  They brought this sailing ship back to New Mexico and now it has made it's way here to Texas in search of a new home.  In excellent condition with NO cracks, chips or breaks.  Beautiful shades of cream and tans from the natural ivory enhance the waves, clouds and birds that follow in the distance.  This is the great size for a teenager or adult and is perfect for layering.  The 10k gold bail allows for a chain or leather strap up to 4mm thick.  The perfect gift for that nautical lover in your life.
