Miriam Haskell Large Faux Pearl & Crystal Brooch

This original Miraim Haskell from the 1940's was hand crafted and adorned with beautiful faux pearls a sparkling crystals.  It can be worn vertical in length or horizontal with a side drape.  Horizontal is my favorite look.  If comes to us from a family here in San Antonio who is looking to find good homes for some jewelry items that belonged to a mother in law who passed in the 1980's.  She was a Chicago fashion editor in the 1930's and acquired a large collection on jewelry over the years.  This was purchased new by the original owner and was worn as a daily accent piece to her winter wool two piece suits.  It is a great piece of history from a famed jewelry designer.  This will also make a wonderful hair or bouquet accent for a religious ceremony, wedding or Quinceañera.  Perfect mother-in-law brooch at a winter wedding!  No missing crystals or pearls.  Very light wear to pearls from age and use (please view photos).  As this is a vintage item with many small accents we can not guarantee structural integrity.  It is in very good solid form and has been worn to test strength.

Miriam Haskell (July 1, 1899 – July 14, 1981) was an American designer of costume jewelry. With creative partner Frank Hess, she designed affordable pieces from 1920 through the 1960's. Her vintage items are eagerly collected and the namesake company, which first displayed her jewelry in New York City's McAlpin Hotel, continues. It is currently listed as Haskell Jewels, LLC
