Vintage Hand Crafted African Wood Fetish Necklace
This necklace is not only fun, but a beautiful accessory that can be worn with jeans and crisp white shirt or that little black jumpsuit. It is hand crafted and considered a tourist piece from around the 1980's. This necklace was picked up by a little lady while on a holy pilgrimage in Egypt. It was crafted by a Sudanese street artisan and represents the many animals of Africa. The bead work and design of this double strand necklace are so fun. You will find nine animal fetishes separated evenly, representing the elephant, giraffe, zebra, spotted hyena, lion and rhinoceros. Beads are strung on fishing wire, so nice a sturdy with a silver hook and gold tone beads at each fetish and to bead ends. NO cracks, breaks or chips to animal beads and NO missing or broken accent beads. The necklace is hefty enough to lay nicely without being uncomfortable to wear. Fun and perfect for any season!
