NO cracks or breaks to the stones and NO dents, cracks or breaks to metal work. I left some of the patina to celebrate the age, but ring can be polished to a higher shine. Crafted by Bell Indian Trading Co. around the late 50's-mid 60's. Bell Indian Trading became the largest manufacturing co. for Fred Harvey jewelry all while continuing to design and craft their own line. This piece belong to a lovely lady named Margaret. She grew up in Santa Fe, NM becoming a social worker. She married and adopted a cheerful baby boy named David, who grew up to be an archaeologist. Bell Indian Trading Post Company was created in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1932 by Jack Michelson and his wife Mildred. Their company sold authentic Native American Indian jewelry, as well as, some non-artisan stamped pieces at various tourist locations throughout the southwestern United States from the mid 30's until 1972.
The Bell company name honors Jack’s wife, whose maiden name is Bell. Especially relevant is that Bell’s main competitor was Maisel’s Indian Trading Post would ended up merging with Bell Trading Company in 1969.
