1930's Chinese Granite Horse Design Ink Plate
 
This amazing ink well is in very good condition, especially for it's age.  The ink plate is hand etched brown granite with orange-red flecks.  The image is of a horse kicking up dust as it runs with the clouds overhead; in it's mouth is a Chinese coin belt that she is whipping around joyfully.  I think the horse is a she, and she is ready to spend some mullah!  Very light wear, (a small chip to corner by horse hoof and a few light chips to back edge (please view photos.)  All the way from Florida, this wild horse is looking for a new home.  A beautiful collector's piece that looks fantastic on a stand or laying flat on a desk.  If you or a loved one practices the art of calligraphy or what is knows as shūfǎ or fǎshū (書法/书法, 法書/法书) in China; literal translation 'the way/method/law of writing, then this is the perfect buy for you.
