Sterling Navajo Horny Toad Pin by Arnold Maloney
This amazing find was originally purchased in 2000 at the Navajo Nation Museum in Window Rock, Arizona. It is hand crafted from famed Navajo artisan Arnold Maloney. Constructed out of sterling silver, spiny oyster and jet and in like new condition. The detailing is all hand etched with the spiny oyster and jet inlayed between sterling silver strips. NO cracks or chips to the stones and NO dents to metal work. The back is stamped with the Sterling mark and Maloney's hallmark "M". The lock and pin are in perfect working order with NO bends. The horned toad is often said to represent self-reliance and longevity. It can protect its owner from harm and symbolizes ancestral bounty. Lizards may carry dreaming and foresight powers, and hold within themselves ancient secrets. Horned toad and lizard fetish carvings are commonly carved, often in great detail.
