Vintage 14k Custom Diamond Ladies Nugget Ring
Ostentatious is the name of the game with this ring! It was made to be seen and without apology. Custom crafted nugget design from the 1970's using various cut diamonds as accents. The ring come from the estate of a retired Air Force Colonel here in Texas. The ring actually belonged to his mother who was a fashion editor in Chicago and New York back in the 1930's & 40's. This ring was made for her using stones that were taken out of older pieces of jewelry. The center stones is a large Round Brilliant Cut approx. .40cts with Old European, Swiss, Single and Rose cut diamonds sprinkled throughout. The older Rose Cut diamonds came from an antique family brooch. The ring is not only unique but actually very comfortable to wear! The inside of band is hollow and allows for some play to one's finger for easy off and on. I tested it myself for a few days with no comfort issues; and boy did it get attention. This is the kinda ring I would wear if I gambled in Vegas, was a thoroughbred horse breeder or in a awesome band! None of which I am, but this is what kind of ring I think they would wear. The stones are in very good condition with only a small chip to the girdle of one diamond that is not eye visible. Now, this ring is small in size at just a 5, but it has plenty of room to be sized, so no worries there. A lot of gold and a lot of diamonds bring this beauty to life.
